Overview
You don’t always have to climb a mountain in search of the epic views. Sometimes you really just need to slow down and look at the beauty below your feet and in the hedgerows all around.
We can deliver this experience in a location that suits you. It may be on your own farm or a forest park / trail that you normally walk. Examples of where we have previously led ‘Introduction to Foraging Walks’ are the beautiful ‘Bluebell Lane Glamping Site’ in Mullaghban, set on 26 acres of young Ring of Gullion woodland, the mature forest and parklands of the magnificent Killeavy Castle Estate but other locations are also used.
Brian has been a keen forager for many years and loves nothing more than sharing this knowledge.
Explore the bounty of the countryside with this fascinating Introduction to Foraging Course. Learn how to forage sustainably within the law and with good practice, how to safely collect prepare and cook common seasonal wild foods and how to identify common seasonal edible and non-edible plants, and the habitats in which to find them.
Learn how to identify some of the deadly poisonous plants.
Did you know that ‘hairy bittercress’ is neither hairy nor bitter but instead has a beautiful mustard / cress like flavour and better still it grows almost everywhere around you!
